Thank You Mama Michal

We are finally here, Farmington, N.M. We arrived about 12:30 p.m. mountain time. Yesterday was pretty touch and go. I don't know if anyone heard about the line of SEVERE storms that swept through west and north Texas yesterday, but if you didn't, WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU??!! Thanks to my mom-in-law Michal, who is in north Georgia, kept us out of harms way by watching the weather radar via the Internet steered us clear of what could have been a road trip for the record books, but I doubt we would have made to our destination:-( We stopped in Abilene to top off our tank when we could see some not so friendly clouds to the north and west, exactly the direction we wanted to travel. We checked the weather on our laptop and got the info we did not want to hear. We got Mama Michal on the horn and confirmed the info and made alternate plans, thank goodness we are familiar with the roads in west Texas. Anyway, to make a long story longer, Steph and I looked at each other and said, "Let's push through, we've been through some shit before." We received another call from Michal saying she had this dream, Steph and I looked at each other and decided to take an alternate route. Those of you who know when Michal has a dream and suggests strongly about something, you LISTEN.

Something funny, I'm sitting outside the trailer freezing my ass off just so I can receive good enough signal to transmit all this info, so that everyone can get a good laugh, and you had better laugh, the producer of this roping just drove up and asked if I had seen any steers run by. We are parked about 200 yards from the arena. I'm telling you that's funny.

Take care and have a GREAT weekend, I hope we do the same. On to Amarillo from here, YEEHAWW.

Good Times, Good Times!!

Just stopping through

As we stop through to check on things, for about a 36 hour layover, after coming home from Montgomery, AL. All is good the animals, wild and domestic, are very happy to be here. This weekend was a informative one, we found out that a friend of ours from Florida, who was only 24 years old, lost his life in a car accident. He will be missed, GREATLY.

We leave again in the morning for Farmington, N.M., four corners area, then from there we go to Amarillo then home for Cinco de Mayo.

Happy birthday to Selfy in Portland, the big 37. Dude, three years from 40, OUCH!!

I'm very tired and don't have much else to say. Everyone take care and make the most of everyday because you never know when the music will end.

Too much rain.

On our way home from Nashville, we had to cross the Mississippi River. That part of the country has been receiving TONS of rain. The coverage the media has given to the area around Memphis just doesn't do it justice, you have to see it for yourself. I do not know where the vehicles came from, but there were a caravan of old vans, converted camo-painted buses all parked on the frontage road. People were just kind of milling around and waiting for something. It was really strange. The amount of water was really amazing, the "river" had probably overflowed about 3-4 miles west along the north and south sides of I-40. Crazy stuff.

Define Irony

While in Tennessee this weekend I was discussing the current gas price increase with a few people. Since the price of diesel affects our business, GREATLY!!! The guys I was talking to had some info on Truckers possibly protesting within the next few days. Well, well, well, if anyone has seen the news in the past few hours you now know what has happened. Good for you guys!! DAMN THE MAN!!! Steph and I were thinking about this on the way home yesterday on how bad this could be. OH HOW VERY BAD!! We were filling up yesterday afternoon and a car hauler had filled up before us. Take a wild guess what kind of cars it was hauling, .... ELECTRIC CARS. Define irony, it probably cost the trucker around $700 to fill his tanks, and considering the news today I wonder if he made his delivery or he is pulled over at a truck stop somewhere.

While I was taking pictures of these cool-looking vehicles, another trucker came out and said, "you know what we call those in Europe,... mobile coffins."
